Admin Officer – Foundry Lane Primary School

Grade 7, Scale Point 19-25 - £29,777 - £33,944 FTE

Permanent Contract

40 Weeks – Term Time Only plus one week

The School Admin Officer will lead our friendly school admin team.  The post-holder will have responsibility for assisting with the day to day operations relating to, Budget, Finance, HR, Admissions, Health and Safety and Communication.  Experience of school business management is preferred but we are open to candidates from the public or private sectors who have the right aptitude and who feel confident managing both strategic and operational areas.

Foundry Lane is currently in the stages of working towards academisation. This will give the post-holder the opportunity to access a wide network of experience and knowledge to support them in this role working directly at Foundry Lane Primary School.

The post hours will be 08:00 – 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 08:00-16:00 on a Friday, with an hour’s unpaid lunchbreak each day.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a Business Administration qualification or equivalent experience (NVQ 2/3)
  • Have a good understanding of business administration, preferably in a school setting
  • Have knowledge of human resources processes
  • Have experience of financial procedures and budget monitoring
  • Have proven leadership skills to enable the effective management of the Admin team
  • Have excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to forward plan, prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office and Google suite of applications to fulfil the requirements of the role
  • Possess a warm, positive, professional manner and create a welcoming Reception to all visitors to the school
  • Have a strong proven ability to be able to develop effective working relationships with colleagues, pupils, the wider school community and external agencies
  • Maintain high regard for confidentiality
  • Have a good understanding of key safeguarding issues and procedures
  • Hold a positive regard for all children, including their safety and wellbeing.
  • Be keen to be involved in the life of the school
