All members of the school community will treat others with kindness and learn to value difference and celebrate diversity through acceptance and understanding.
We will support learners to be self-motivated and ambitious, embracing each new day as an opportunity to succeed. We will develop resilience and help all children see struggle and mistakes as a natural part of becoming a more effective learner.
Our creative and engaging curriculum provides learners with the opportunities to question, analyse and problem solve. We encourage all children to set aspirational goals and work hard to reach them.
We're excited to launch our Park & Stride campaign at Lidl, just a 4minute walk from the school! We want to encourage all families who need to drive to school to park at nearby Lidl at Villiers Rd and enjoy a short and active walk to school. It's a simple way to reduce traffic and congestion near the school gates, keep children safer, and enjoy some fresh morning air! Plus... a chance to WIN! A member of Southampton City Council School Travel team will be standing at the entrance of the Lidl car park each morning from Tuesday to Friday to collect names of pupils walking from the car park. Every participating pupil will be entered into a raffle to win exciting prizes! One goodie bag winner will be chosen every day. Winners will be announced at the end of the week. The SCC staff member will be wearing a hivis jacket, so they'll be easy to spot. We hope everyone will get involved and help make the area around our school safer, healthier, and more pleasant for the whole school community. *Please note that there are parking restrictions at the Lidl car park, allowing max 90 minutes of stay. The JTAs have been working hard on an assembly and designing posters that will be shared on Monday with KS2 and will be on the gates Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning to promote this. There is also a 'love your journey to school' competition that will be shared in assembly that I have also attached that the children can get involved in! Bingo cards will be available to take home at school from their class teacher. Mrs Reis
I've had my maths hat on today and had the pleasure of seeing teaching and learning across many year groups. Year R completed some wonderful work on shape, Year 1 were working hard on one more, and Year 2 were confidently tackling dividing by 2. In Year 4, pupils were focusing on HTO/O, while Year 5 were also getting stuck into some tricky division. I'm in Year 3 every Wednesday morning for maths so didn't pop in today, but I know they've been working hard on division too. Year 6 have been stretching their thinking with percentages. Well done, super mathematicians! It was lovely to see the clear progression in maths across our year groups. Mrs Loftus
