Foundry Lane Primary School aims to support students with additional needs by removing barriers to learning and participation. We ensure that all students have access to an appropriate level of education that affords them the opportunity to achieve their personal potential and that they receive sufficient support to reach these goals.

Ms Em Ervine is our Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) and works with the team to support the school, pupils, parents and agencies.

Working with Families
We are committed to meeting the educational needs of all our pupils. At times, some of our children will need additional support. We will facilitate this by following these objectives:
- - involving parents and carers as partners
- - making provision for meeting pupils' special educational needs, including the setting and marking of work appropriate to the individual needs of the child, and, where necessary, the development of individual or group learning programmes
- - fostering and maintaining links with outside agencies, educational support services, secondary schools and special schools
- - initiating and facilitating staff development programmes concerned with special educational needs
- - ensuring that our school provides equal access in line with the Equality Act 2010
Our Provisions
Alongside the academic and pastoral support within our Ordinarily Available Provision, Foundry Lane offers additional inclusion bases to support the social, emotional and behavioural development of children who need it. This provision has three strands:
- - Beacon, supporting speech and language development
- - Nest, providing nurture support
- - Lighthouse, supporting social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs
