The pupils voted for our classes to be named after natural beach objects this year. Our Year 3 classes are called: Pebbles and Seashells.

PE Days

Our Year 3 PE days are on Tuesday and Friday. Children can come to school in their PE Kit on these days.

Class Dojo

We use Dojo to share learning, both in school and at home. We love seeing what the children get up to outside of school, as well as their home learning activities, so don't forget to upload your photos to their portfolio!

 

Home Learning

In Year 3, our home learning expectations are:

We encourage daily reading with your child to support their progress, fluency, and enjoyment of reading. Your child will bring home a reading book matched to their current stage of development. This may be:

• - A phonics book that aligns with the sounds and words they are learning in class, or
• - A book-banded book that is appropriate for your child's reading level.

Regular reading practice at home helps build confidence, develop comprehension skills, and foster a lifelong love of reading. We encourage parents and carers to read with their child every day and talk about the story to support understanding and enjoyment.

We encourage regular practice of key number facts, including times tables, using our Number Sense booklets and Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS). All pupils will be provided with a TTRS login at the beginning of the academic year. Throughout the year, class teachers will set a variety of challenges and friendly class battles to help motivate pupils and develop their confidence and fluency with times tables. Regular practice at home will help your child build strong mathematical foundations and support their learning in school.
