Music
Music is taught through Charanga, enabling children to develop their musical knowledge, creativity, and performance skills. At Foundry Lane, pupils enjoy a rich musical experience through regular lessons where they develop their skills in listening, composing, and performing, both orally and with instruments, while also learning about music history.
Alongside this, music runs through wider school life, from exploring music in other subjects to participating in school events such as productions, Collective Worship, and the Carol Service. Extra-curricular opportunities are also on offer, including the chance to learn an instrument through peripatetic lessons.
Foundry Lane works closely with the Southampton Music Hub. As part of our wider enrichment offer, every Year 4 child has the opportunity to learn an instrument during the year through the Hub's programme.
