Welcome to Year 2

On this page, you can meet the staff and find out a bit more about Year 2 at Foundry Lane Primary School.

The pupils voted for our classes to be named after wetland habitat birds this year. Our Year 2 classes are called: Sandpipers and Kingfishers.

PE Days

Our Year 2 PE days are on Tuesday and Friday. Children can come to school in their PE Kit on these days.

Class Dojo

We use Dojo to share learning, both in school and at home. We love seeing what the children get up to outside of school, as well as their home learning activities, so don't forget to upload your photos to their portfolio!

 

Home Learning

In Year 2, our home learning expectations are:

• - Daily reading of your child's phonics reading book. Regular reading practice at home helps build confidence,                   develop comprehension skills, and foster a lifelong love of reading. We encourage parents and carers to read with         their child every day and talk about the story to support understanding and enjoyment.
• - Weekly spelling practice, to help reinforce spelling patterns and vocabulary.
• - Regular practice of key number facts, including number bonds.
