Holiday Club

Our Holiday Club is open during all school holidays and is open to all primary school aged children across all schools in the city
(excluding Christmas and the last 3 weeks of the Summer holidays).

You do not have to attend Foundry Lane Primary School to attend our Holiday Club and we love meeting children from other schools who join us to make new friends and enjoy varied activities with us during the school holidays.

Children attending our holiday club can take advantage of all of our indoor and outdoor facilities and we actively encourage sports and outdoor adventure - whatever the weather - as this is an incredibly important part of children's development.

We offer different activities every day and we theme each week of the school holidays.  Children have the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of activities which includes art and craft activities, sports and team building games, themes events including Fantastic Film Friday.

We publish our planned activities in advance so check back to see what's planned for the coming holidays!

Sessions can be booked for the whole day - 8:00am - 5.45pm - at a cost of £25 or half day sessions at a cost of £12.50 per session. Half day sessions run from 8:00am - 1:00pm and 1:00pm - 5.45pm.

Places are allocated on a first come first served basis. If there are no spaces available then your child will be placed on a waiting list and you will be notified when a place is available.

FEBRUARY 2021

During the February half term we had limited numbers due to restrictions but that didn't stop us having an amazing week with all the children that could attend. Our themes included Wellbeing Day, Appreciation Day, 'Life Skills' Day, Isolation Day and an exciting Pyjama Day.

We kicked off the week with wellbeing day focusing on mindful Yoga, relaxing hand massages and physical exercise. We also looked at nutritious foods and fluid intake, and the importance of enough sleep to keep us healthy both mentally and physical.

Appreciation day on Tuesday was one of the most enjoyable days of the week because we looked at self appreciation, who we appreciated and showed our extreme gratitude to all our key workers on the frontline. We took the opportunity to create thank you cards, appreciation posters and gifts to give to those we were thankful for. Once we had finished all our activities, we then sent our posters and cards to the NHS, Fire Service and the Police Department as well at the local BUPA Care Home. We were delighted to receive pictures and letters from those recipients to say a massive thank you and appreciation to us.

We reached the middle of the week and chose to teach the children that were attending about a few life skills, these included how to clean, skills required to build and how to be creative. Children started the day in groups creating an epic crazy golf course which everyone was able work together to design, create and play together - there were some high quality holes produced that morning. All children then learnt about cleaning including the different roles of sweeping, hoovering, moping and cleaning services which we looked to hygiene, germs and the current pandemic.

Thursday saw the children that were in attendance gain a taste of what isolation could feel like, how they saw it and enjoyed creating their own isolation zones which were both imaginary and practical. We asked the children to pick who they would want to be isolated with and explain to us the reason why - we had some interesting answers to say the least. The children were given the opportunity to create their imaginary isolation zone design using recycling items and some fantastic work was fulfilled in this activity. Finally, we finished off the day with everyone creating their own isolation den in the hall using various equipment including the climbing frame, material and other equipment available.

Such an enjoyable week was topped off by a relaxing pyjamas day which we enjoyed with a crazy arcade games morning and homemade pizza created by the children themselves. We finished the afternoon off with 'Film Friday' and an adults vs. children quiz which to their amazing credit, the children won beating the staff to send the children home with massive smiles on their faces.
