Welcome to Design and Technology 2018/2019

Here you will find our curriculum map and skills progression map.  Mrs Joyce and Mrs Lyon are our DT co-ordinators.  If you would ever like to discuss DT with them, they would love to talk to you!

At Foundry Lane, we offer children the opportunity to develop their designing and making skills through the study of structures, control technology, mechanisms, textiles and food.

Children complete three units of work a year which are carefully planned to allow them to investigate products and learn new skills before actually designing, making and evaluating their own product.

How can I help?

If you would like to help us... we will always welcome help during our Design and Technology lessons. With topics such as sewing and food tech extra hands are always useful to help the children support their projects. Please see one of us or speak to the office who can pass a message on if you would like to volunteer.
