What to Do in the Event of Extreme Cold Weather

Following the Met Office weather warning currently in place for Tuesday 29th January and Wednesday 30th January, please see the below advice for your information.

Cold Weather & Snow

You may have seen that parts of the south are predicted snowfall this week, and whilst the chances are low that we will receive significant snowfall, it is always best to be prepared.

We thought it would be beneficial to remind our school community of actions you can take to be prepared for this.  All children must bring a coat to school with them and it would be advisable to bring a hat, scarf and gloves as well – please ensure these are all clearly named.

If there is any impact on the opening on the school during periods of severe winter weather, updates about our opening will be communicated to parents via text message, on the school website & Facebook page and on Southampton City Council’s school closures page of their website –

Naturally, the British weather is somewhat unpredictable so any changes in anticipated action needed, will be communicated as soon as possible.
